My 85 is for sale. It's not a show bike, but a runner. We restored it as far as we could, but then ran out of time due to work and other projects.
Let me know if you're interested.

I see that others are having issues with their beasties in the summer heat. Besides the fact that the fan is turning on, either due to a bad thermostat, or a bad fan (don't know just yet), I cooked my clutch in traffic the other day. The current plan of record is to bleed the slave cylinder and see ...

Sorry if this has been discussed already. A quick and dirty search didn't produce anything. Is there an upgrade for the 1985 stator? My charging system is hosed. The bike starts fine after sitting for a while, but won't start after multiple starts - as in running errands, where you ride parking lot ...

Very nice job, that shade of blue looks great!
Thanks!
What I thought was going to be a very close match turned out to be very bright. But I like how the colors just snap.:)

So, you all missed out on a great time! Unfortunately, so did the VF. :( I got to Steven's Pass, stopped to take a photo at the summit, and noticed that the left fork was leaking severely. I was able to get a hold of my husband, who was on Widbey Island at the time. He hopped onto the ferry, went ho...

So who will be at Miller at the end of the month? Anyone want to meet up?

I'll be the one on the R/W/B VF1000R :)

This all depends on how good of a wrench you are. With a good tool set and a manual, and someone to help give pointers along the way, I've been able to replace a lot of the internals in the engine. I wouldn't suggest working on one of these bikes without a manual though. I hope you were able to get ...

VFR?!??! Ahhhh!!!!

No, the mirrors are unique to that model and I am not aware of anything else that will fit.
Doh! Didn't mean to offend! :)
So...where can I find a VF1000R mirror then?
TIA!

To complete the madness, I need a right hand mirror. Anyone have an extra? Do other VFR mirrors work? Please let me know! Thank...

I'm in for northern CA, however, WSB will be in Utah this year. How's that for central? I'll already be there, so its easy for me...and it's always about me, yes? :)

Hi all, what is the best way to support the mighty VF1KR while the forks are off for paint? We have two front stands: one that supprts the bike via the fork tubes (won't work for obvious reasons), and the other supports the bike with a stem that goes into the bottom of the triple tree. We can't use ...

Read your blog about restoration. Here's an idea. Since its presently white? You could go the full Rothmans scheme. I have a source for a full set of decals from the 86 Rothmans scheme, if you want it. PM me with email for an address. Larry VFRrider Good to know! I'm still playing with which scheme...
