Sorry about that. I am in Fort Worth, Texas, but I am willing to drive to swap vehicles if necessary. However, if someone wants to buy it, I have a vehicle in California I'd like to buy so I would drive between here and California.

I have a 1986 Honda VF1000R that I would be interested in trading for a KLR650 or TransAlp. I have about 25,600 miles on mine and a person came to see it last week and said it was in amazing condition except for the one fairing problem. However, I have the replacement fairing that needs painting and...

I will, however take $2900 for the bike with none of the extra parts included. Sale price with everything is $3200 VIN: JH2SC1601GM100082 Contact Paul 817 825 5797 or 84lumberman...

I bought a clutch lever (carbon, but I am returning it for the regular). When ordering I noticed both the regular and carbon look identical. However, when I pulled my old clutch lever off it looks totally different from the new ones. Even the hole spacing on the new ones are farther apart. This seem...

Well, because everyone made fun of the carbon "look" levers, I opted for the regular levers. Bike: 1986 VF1000R So, what I need to know now are the steps to replace the lever. I have a manual, but it talks about replacing the fluid and not removing the lever. I just need to make sure I don't screw i...

I found this website that has TONS of parts for the VF1000R--specifically the 1986 version. One of the coolest things (in my opinion) was the carbon fiber levers you can get for the bike. I thought it would be a nice touch to mine. Here is the website: http://www.cyclewareables.com/pages/levers_carb...

I have a 1986 VF1000R and it seems that the gear shift lever has gotten a little loud and harder to shift with my foot. Sometimes it takes a couple clicks to get into 3rd, for example, too. What maintenance should I do for this? I am sure it is minor and may just require something simple to check or...

I found a place that sells the paint for the 1986 VF 1000R. It is unholy pricey, but they have it if anyone needs it. It is $114.95 per pint $77.95 per half pint $39.95 for Clear Coat $19.95 for reducer (used for a sprayer) It is super easy to follow the web page. Follow this link: http://www.colorr...

Unfortunately, I checked the shipping box size, weight, and zip code to zip code and $137 was exactly what the UPS charge was. Stinks, but I am ok with that because I got what I needed.

I just bought a top cowl off eBay and was wondering if anyone thinks I paid a fair price. I did WAY overpay on shipping unless the seller has to drive 100 miles to UPS.

Does anyone know if a 1985 VF1000R top cowl will fit a 1986 VF1000R?

I found an excellent one undamaged and in the pics it looks the same, but I have no idea.

Well, I got home at 9:00AM this morning. I left REALLY early in the morning because I wanted to get home ASAP. Everything went fine while driving. No problems at all. The temp stayed only 1/3 the way up the whole way and sometimes even cooler. The crosswind problem was not as bad as have been sugges...
