hey guys,

thanks for the quick replies. i'm not sure how to check the function of the slides apart from opening them up. and i'm going to try that wd-40 check for sure. as for the cables, they're in great shape and move smooth and crisp so i'm ruling that out.

cheers,
chris

ok, so i've been dealing with a lack of power issue with my '85. i thought maybe it was my pulse generators so i replaced those. seems to have made a little improvement but still hitting a wall around 8000rpm. i'm running dual Yoshi exhaust and carbs jetted to 135. it pulls in low end then just quit...

i think this is the most likely path to follow: If you're able to change down and break through it, my first assumption is the secondary side of the ignition system is failing. That would be plugs, and wires. Other things to check after that would be: 1. Ignition control unit 2. Incorrect starter cl...

ok, so here's what i did today: i took the carbs off one of my other beasts running an open 4-1 Supertrapp with 130 MAIN + 38 SLOW. it runs like a bat out of hell so i figured i'd bung them on the problem bike and see if that makes any diff. result: no difference. still creeps to 100mph and then jus...
