I haven't ridden the bike in 2 years I've been loaded up with work. I had one of my floats sticking in one carb. I dissasembled the carbs, cleaned and set them up for reassemble. The carb boots are hard as a rock and I tried all the tricks to soften them up to no avail. I ordered up new rubber boots...

I've been working on too many projects, (houses, turbos, motorcycles). Now getting back to getting the VF back on the road. I've got 2 fuel tanks. They both have some dings, but not bad. One no rust the other rust. 8) I used the Por 5 fuel tank repair kit. I haven't used the sealer yet, but did use ...

I bought a Ballistic 8 cell 4 years ago for my VF1000R. It has the weight of a D cell battery and is small. I put foam around it to keep it in the battery box. I though there is no way it will have enough juice for the starter. It started the VF like it was Supercharged. It sat for months in the win...

I've had my 1985 VF1000R new since 85. I dented the tank long time ago and replaced it with a new one from Honda. I've also got RR's and other bikes. Over the years the 1000 hasn't been ridden much. That caused rust to build up inside the tank. I'm redoing the bike now and over the years have replac...

I had other issues and decided to go back to the fuel pump. Which wasn't getting power. The fuel pump relay was bad. They want $45 for the relay. The relay is to stop the pump in case the engine isn't running from an accident so you don't have a fire. I jumpered out the relay. The pump stops when it...

I finished up today. Don't use the Honda inline fuel filter as it is made to be pressurized with the pump. I had problems with it until I eliminated it. I'll put a inline in Monday. I also put a small drill bit hole on my gas cap in front just below the key flat. That will eliminate any vaccum fuel ...

Good-Day! We have a motorcycle that is not in high numbers now and really never has been. I read somewhere that the number of VF1000R's sent to the US was 2000. That sounds true. There are many models of this bike. There are many that are parked under a lot of cloths and won't start. Many have died!...

I ordered it out of a honda shop in Wis. It cost $161 with free shipping. 3 yr warranty It was Gaint something! I'll have my gas tank gasket Friday. I think this battery is the one thing everybody with a VF1000R has to have. I also think it will help with driveablity issues. I might have it on the r...

I plan on riding my VF1000R there. I had a 1967 Triumph Daytona. It wasn't a great bike but I still love the new model Scrambler. If you've never been to the Barber Motorsports Museum it's great. I believe it's now the largest collection of motorcycles in the world! It's a great race track too! It w...
