I'm desperately seeking tips and tricks on carb removal on my 85-86 VF1000R. I've gone by the book, boot clamps are loose now, etc... but they still feel like they're bolted in tight - I've seen the "crow bar prying the carbs up with the frame as fulcrum" trick before but this is a beatiful bike... no gorillas allowed.
Thanks for any ideas, JC

keep the plate that holds all the carbs together on. just work 'em back+forth and side to side little by little. that's what i do. you can do the "Daughtery prying" method as well but i'd work 'em a little bit first and get 'em loosened up.

cheers!
