Hi, I've about to re-install the forks but how do I know that I've got the holes at the top of the forks correctly aligned so the oil flows through the balancing lines (tubes)

You don't need align the holes. There is a flute/grove? at the Air Joint (it's name in maintenance manual) which connects both holes in every position you fasten the fork tubes.
By the way it's not for flowing oil, it's for pressure compensation. Becuase you can fill in one tube air only.

I hope you understand my bad english and it helps you.

Thanks for the reply. I can carry on with confidence that I haven't done anything wrong.
