Looking for a machinist to do engine work in Australia.

Looking for some mechanical advice or sharing your own tales of the workshop wonder.

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a reputable engine reconditioner/ machinist in australia, preferably NSW or ACT, that could do the bottom end work on my 84 VF1000F engine.

At the bare minimum it would require big ends and journals machined and new bearings fitted.
It'd be nice to find someone who is familiar with these engines.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to the site.
The big problem you will have is that if your bearings are toast they are no longer available.
Some regularly pop up on ebay in the US and David silver spares can sometimes get them but they have not been in production for more than 20 years.
Why would you need big ends and journals machined? Were they damaged in an engine failure?
